Why:
"SHANE-
The greatest western ever made"
MODA
Entertainment is celebrating the 50th
anniversary of the legendary western Shane
– which starred Alan Ladd, Van Heflin and Jean
Arthur, nominated for six Academy Awards, won
for best cinematography and went on to become
one of the most popular and enduring westerns of
all time – by screening a new 35mm print with
a “never seen before” extended
ending. This
ending was cut before the film was ever
released. This will be the first time an
audience has ever seen the movie with this
ending.
MORGAN
FREEMAN STATEMENT: “I have been greatly
affected by the western Shane, and the
performances, ever since I was young, and even
now. This particular western transcends the
regular shoot-em up bang-bang sentiment that was
normally associated with the quickly-made, and
easily produced films typical of the genre and
the times.”
