Travel Green: Take the "A" Train

Travel Green: Take the "A" Train was a MODA Entertainment "Green Initiative" celebrating the 110th Anniversary of the birth of Jazz legend Duke Ellington. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg declared April 29, 2009 Duke Ellington Day in honor of the event. To commemorate his life, a special run of the last surviving 1939 ‘A’ Train, which was made famous by Duke Ellington’s signature tune Take the A Train. Paul Ellington and the world famous Duke Ellington Orchestra preformed the iconic song on the mezzanine at 125th Street and St. Nicholas.
